Doug Gies Promoted to President of Eastern Operations -

Fairfield, Calif., (October 1, 2010) MV Transportation, Inc., is pleased to announce the promotion of Mr. Doug Gies to East Group President.

Gies has served as Regional Vice President of MV’s Mountain Area for the past three years and has school bus, fixed route and paratransit managerial experience spanning his 20 year career in the industry. In his new role, Gies will oversee MV’s team of regionally based vice presidents and support personnel, as well as ensuring contract compliance and the operational success of all contracts across the Eastern Unites States, beginning in Colorado and extending east.

MV Transportation, the Metro contractor responsible for operating the MetroAccess paratransit service, has initiated an independent inquiry of its hiring and training policies, to ensure the company and its subcontractors are maximizing passenger safety.

MV Transportation, Inc. Donates $20,000 to Handicap International for Mobility Devices in Haiti -

WASHINGTON – The Freedom of Mobility Foundation, the charitable branch of MV Transportation, Inc., a United Statesbased transportation contracting firm and paratransit services provider, donated $20,000 to Handicap International on Thursday, August 26, 2010. The donation, which will be used to provide mobility devices for newly disabled people in Haiti, will also help fund the organization’s Disability and Vulnerability Focal Points (DVFPs), which are clinics set up in tents within five communities in Port ‐au‐Prince and other affected areas in Haiti.

Court Keeps Garnishment Order against STATA’s Assets In Place -

On July 9, 2010, a judge in the Ninth Judicial District Court of Nevada rejected an argument from the South Lake Tahoe Area Transportation Authority (STATA) that a portion of the funds in STATA’s bank account were not subject to garnishment and should be released. The Court ruled the garnishment order against STATA’s assets would remain in place.
